Anières Mechina Program: Your Path to Technion Starts Here

עודכן: 16 באוג׳
The Anières Mechina Program helps talented young immigrants and future Olim prepare for admission to Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, one of the world's leading engineering universities.
The program is designed for students who have the academic potential to succeed in engineering and technology studies but need additional preparation before beginning their undergraduate degree.
Anières combines intensive academic preparation with financial support, personal guidance, and a community that helps students navigate both the Technion admission process and their transition to life and studies in Israel.
What Is Mechina?
Mechina is a preparatory academic program designed to help students meet university admission requirements.
For future Technion students, it can be particularly important if you:
Do not yet meet Technion admission requirements
Need to strengthen your mathematics, physics, or Hebrew
Are transitioning from another country's education system to the Israeli system
Need additional preparation before beginning a demanding engineering degree
Anières Mechina is specifically designed around the academic requirements of engineering and technology studies at Technion.
Who Can Apply?
Anières Mechina is primarily intended for young Olim and future Olim who want to pursue engineering or technology studies at Technion.
You may be eligible if you:
Are generally 18–25 years old, with some applicants up to age 27 considered in special cases
Have made Aliyah recently or are planning to make Aliyah
Are interested in mathematics, physics, engineering, or technology
Have at least a basic level of Hebrew or are prepared to improve it intensively
Meet the program's academic and financial eligibility criteria
Each application is evaluated individually, so if you are unsure whether you qualify, we encourage you to apply and let our admissions team review your situation.
What Does the Program Include?
The program combines academic preparation with practical support that allows students to focus on reaching the level required for Technion admission.
Participants receive preparation in:
Mathematics
Physics
Hebrew
English, when necessary
Psychometric/SAT preparation
Students also receive academic guidance and personal support throughout the admission process.
Financial Support
Eligible Anières Mechina students can receive comprehensive financial assistance during the program.
Support may include:
A monthly scholarship of approximately 2,500 NIS
Subsidized housing
Study materials
Food support
Psychometric preparation
Tuition for the Mechina itself may be covered through applicable government support for eligible students.
Financial assistance depends on individual eligibility. Family income and supporting financial documents are reviewed as part of the application process.
Pre-Mechina and Mechina: How the Academic Preparation Works
Some students may begin with a Pre-Mechina stage before entering the full Mechina program.
Pre-Mechina
The purpose of Pre-Mechina is to help students reach the academic and language level required to begin the main program.
Depending on individual needs, preparation may include:
Intensive Hebrew
Mathematics
Physics
English
Mechina
The main Mechina stage provides university-level preparation designed around Technion admission requirements.
Students study:
Mathematics
Physics
Hebrew
English
They also prepare for the relevant entrance examinations and work toward meeting the academic requirements necessary to apply to Technion.
Supported Fields of Study
Anières Mechina is designed specifically for students interested in the engineering and technology fields supported by Anières International:
Computer Science
Software Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Data Science and Engineering
Information Systems Engineering
Chemical and Biochemical Engineering
Aerospace Engineering
Biomedical Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Materials Science and Engineering
Biotechnology and Food Engineering
You do not need to make your final faculty choice when you apply. Your interests may change during the program, and you can later choose another field within the list of supported faculties.
However, if none of these fields appeals to you, Anières Mechina may not be the most appropriate preparatory program. Its curriculum has a strong mathematics, physics, engineering, and technology focus specifically because these subjects are important for the supported Technion faculties.
How Does the Admission Process Work?
The selection process generally consists of several stages:
Submit your application and the required supporting documents.
Initial eligibility review by the Anières team.
Hebrew and mathematics assessments for eligible candidates.
Personal interview, depending on the results of the previous stages.
Pre-Mechina, if additional preparation is required before the main program.
Mechina studies and preparation for the relevant admission requirements.
Technion application and admission after successfully meeting the required academic criteria.
The exact process may vary depending on your educational background, Hebrew level, previous examinations, and individual circumstances.
Program Timeline
The application and selection process begins several months before the academic program itself.
A typical cycle may include:
January–April: Hebrew and mathematics entrance assessments
March–April: First-round interviews
April: Registration closes
May: Additional interviews, if required
Mid-June–July: Intensive Hebrew preparation
Mid-July: Pre-Mechina begins
Mid-October: Main Mechina program begins
